DERRY MFG. COMPANY PRESENTATION BANJO CLOCK. Circa 1910. Retailed by the Bigelow-Kennard & Company, of Boston Massachusetts. The mahogany and gilt-wood case a reproduction of a Willard presentation banjo clock. With a cast brass eagle finial above the enameled dial with roman numeral chapter ring, time only aperture beneath a convex glass door above the throat with eglomise panel decorated with a burgundy tablet within a gilt border of leaf tips above a floral filled basket. Flanked by cast brass filets above the box base with eglomise panel similarly decorated all within gilt wood rope twist borders. Beneath the box base is a gilt-wood pendent apron applied with spherules and acorn finial. The brass eight day time piece with original lead weight and recoil escapement. SIZE: Overall h. 40″. PROVENANCE: This item is accompanied by a pamphlet describing this specific clock including provenance of the owner supplied by the national association of watch and clock collectors. CONDITION: Is very fine original condition overall. A minor loss of border paint on eglomise panel in box base. 9-20424 (2,000-4,000)
