BIDJAR ORIENTAL RUG, NORTHWEST PERSIA. Mid-20th century. The poled central “lantern” rose red medallion enclosing a smaller pale blue medallion woven with a waterleaf spray in pinks and reds, all on an ivory field within rose red spandrels, all with rows of dense polychrome flowerheads, the wine red main border of scrolling saz leaves alternating with floral cartouches.
