Fine figural group carved in boxwood from the solid depicting the figure of Shao Lao, god of longevity, amidst a pine forest, the trees filled with fanciful birds. God surrounded by emblems of longevity including children, cranes and peaches. Also flanked by a deer and a censer on stand. All on a carved rockwork plinth. SIZE: 17″ h x 9″ w x 4-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From a private collection. CONDITION: Very good with nicely polished surfaces. Good color and undisturbed patina. 9-24091 (7,000-9,000)
