THOMAS JEFFERSON FIRST INAUGURAL SPEECH ON SILK. The text of the 3rd President’s inaugural address printed on silk in two columns, titled “SPEECH OF THOMAS JEFFERSON, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, DELIVERED AT HIS INSTALMENT (sic), MARCH 4, 1801”. The document, passed down through the family of the present owner, was discovered in the will case of James A. Sharpe of Augusta, KY, April 23rd, 1839. SIZE: 16-1/4″ h x 11-3/4″ w sight. CONDITION: The material is currently mounted in a frame under glass. Some slight fraying at top and bottom of document outside of border. Small insect holes present throughout. Otherwise in good condition. Text is clear. 9-97006 (2,000-4,000)
