EXCEPTIONAL & RARE SUNG STYLE AGARWOOD CARVED AND POLYCHROME DECORATED FIGURE OF AN APSARA. Chinese, 18th/19th century. Beautifully carved from the solid, the finely detailed statue in vibrant colors. The artist achieved almost a mystical serenity with the facial composition and positioning of the right arm. Rendered standing on a lotus blossom. SIZE: 23-1/4″ h x 7-1/2″ w x 5″ d. PROVENANCE: Signed letter of provenance by Mme. Hengyi Aixinjueluo accompanies this lot. CONDITION: Structurally very good.
