SEMI-ANTIQUE KERMAN PALACE CARPET, SOUTH PERSIA. Last quarter 19th century. Woven overall with large lotus blossoms framed within scrolling leaf tips and densely populated overall with floral vinery. All in shades of indigo, beige and gold and pinks on a pale plum field. Main border similarly decorated with lotus blossoms, scrolling vinery and arabesque flower heads. SIZE: 10′ 8″ x 21′ 4″. PROVENANCE: From a New England Institution. CONDITION: With rich dark colors. With good pile overall. Central third with wear. Foundation showing in some areas.
