FINE REGENCY INLAID MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK WITH MOON PHASE DIAL. 1st quarter 19th century, probably Scottish. Swan’s neck molded cornice above an inlaid frieze above the astragal arched door flanked by free standing Corinthian columns with cast brass capitals and bases. The painted dial with Arabic numeral chapter ring centering a subsidiary second’s dial and calendar dial flanked by time and strike apertures. The spandrels each painted, representing the four seasons; all beneath a painted moon phase dial. The clock with an eight day time & strike movement. The case throat with shaped thumbmolded figured door flanked by engaged flat reeded columns joined to the molded box base. SIZE: 89″ h x 18″ w x 9-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From a West Virginia Collection. CONDITION: The case with good color and patina. In need of minor repolishing. Dial very good. Brass movement in need of restoration.
