ALICE BEACH WINTER (American, 1877-1970) PORTRAIT OF CHILDREN WITH SAILBOATS. Large oil on canvas scene shows young girl and boy seated on shoreline rocks with small sailboat models in tidal pool. Rocks and island are very typical of the Rockport/Gloucester coastline. Wonderful colors are seen in the ocean and children’s clothes. On back of stretcher is the following: “Lisa and Oaksie; Louisa Bronson Hunnewell and Francis Oakes Hunnewell-Children of Mr. & Mrs. Hollis Hunnewell of Wellesley, Mass Painted by Alice Beach Winter in Gloucester Mass 1943. Housed in a wonderful gilt arts & crafts style carved frame. SIZE: 29” x 36”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-93418 (2,500-3,000)
