FINE ENGLISH QUEEN ANNE BURR WALNUT GAMES TABLE. Mid 18th century. The hinged highly figured crossbanded top with exaggerated turret corners. When opened, the primary top rests on two rear swing legs. The games surface, highly figured, each side with an offset oval paterae and with a conforming central paterae. The turret corners each with candle recesses. Set above the rectangular frieze with arched and scalloped apron raised on angular cabriole legs with shaped returns terminating in pad feet and raised on small platforms. SIZE: 28-1/2″ h x 31″ w x 15-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine home. CONDITION: Professionally repolished and restored and with minor insect damage. Top with old shrinkage crack restoration. Top retains original hinges. Very good overall with strong figuring and nice patina. 9-22129 (1,500-2,500)
