IVES NINE-PIN SET. Fabulous early set of nine pins manufactured by Ives Blakeslee in the late 19th century. The wooden pins are covered in lithographed paper with great detailing especially to their faces. Legs and hats are painted in gold pinstriped. Set was patented in 1885 and basically features the same figure but either in red or blue attire. Set comes with what appears to be its original wooden ball with red, yellow and blue stripe. SIZE: 12″ t. CONDITION: Overall very good with some minor touch-up where there would be paper loss and a few small repairs to brim of hats where they more than likely fell over and chipped away. 1-12469 (1,000-1,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
