CARVED SOAPSTONE WATER COUPE. Chinese, late Qing Dynasty. Domed pot of beehive shape finely carved with figures in a landscape. Stone of a yellow hue with purple veining. Molded base centering a seal. Mounted on a hardwood stand. SIZE: Pot: 2-1/4″ h x 6″ dia. Overall: 4-1/4″ h. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of the grand-niece of the last Emperor Puyi of the Qing Dynasty and granddaughter of crown Prince Pujun.
