ADAM BUCK (British, 1759-1833) PORTRAIT OF A MAN, POSSIBLY A SELF PORTRAIT. Miniature watercolor shows a half portrait of a man with balding head wearing a black top coat in profile. Pencil signed lower left “Adam Buck 1821”. Also, with an inscription “24 May 1744”. Housed in its original lemon gold frame with an early label “Adam Buck Painted by Adam Buck Signed and dated. A very fine example of his work”. The backboard having an original framers label “R. Gravel Carved Guilder”. Also on reverse is a round sticker “K.E. Houston Collection”. SIZE: Total: 5-1/2″ x 5″.
