ARTHUR GARFIELD DOVE (American, 1880-1946) “TREES II, 1934”. Watercolor modern scene shows a blue curving tree on edge of a hill with other forms, presumably trees with round tops on the hillside. Signed center bottom. Back having an original label with penned title and date “Trees II, 1934 by Arthur G Dove Care of Alfred Stieglitz 509 Madison Ave. New York City”. Also “The Downtown Gallery” label and “Mark Borghi” label. This painting was listed and shown in the Alexander Galleries of New York City Estate book on Dove. Housed in a silvered gilt simple wood frame with linen matte. SIZE: Sight: 6-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94220 (35,000-50,000)
