CITROEN 4-DOOR SEDAN. Very impressive in size and scale, this car seems more like a real car than a toy. There are so many features about this car, there would be too many to list. Details starting with the massive clockwork mechanism (working) activated through a shaft in the radiator, the clockwork spring alone is something to see. There is a transmission that actually shifts from forward to reverse. There is a drive shaft that goes to a rear differential and independent suspension. It has electric headlights, nickel plated grill, rubber tires and spare that all could be removed for additional play value, four opening doors with windows that slide up and down. Upon opening the doors, the doors are stamped tin simulating upholstery. Both seats are stamped tin and simulated upholstery, working headlight switch, authentic steering wheel that activates steering mechanism. The car also includes a sun visor, louvers on the hood, simulated cowl vent, elliptical spring detail and hangers, rear license plate and simulated light. The car itself is two-tone medium brown and tan, black roof, visor, fenders, and splash aprons, aluminum running boards, and black wheels. It looks great from every angle. SIZE: 21-1/4″ l. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Malcolm Deisenroth, Jr. CONDITION: Near excellent. 1-10044 (5,000-8,000)
