FINE SEMI-ANTIQUE HERIZ CARPET. Circa 1900. This colorful and bold example with dark indigo central medallion flanked by pale turquoise stylized crab devices amongst geometric polychrome vinery, within elongated pale turquoise spandrels all within a blue/black main border of palmettes. The olive guard borders with scrolling leaf tips and flower heads. SIZE: 12′ 4″ x 10′ 5″. PROVENANCE: From an Ellsworth, Maine Estate. CONDITION: With strong and vibrant colors and with losses to ends and selvage within normal parameters. Small areas of wear to foundation at one end. Remains very good overall. 9-21932 (4,000-6,000)
