SMITH & WESSON 3RD MODEL SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER 4-BBL SET. Cal 22, 32 S&W and 38 S&W. Blued finish with 4″ keyhole 38 S&W bbl installed, with half-moon front sight and S&W logo hard rubber grips. It is accompanied by 6″ and 8″ single shot 32 S&W bbls. Both have keyhole rib with target front sight and an interchangeable target rear sight is mounted on 6″ bbl. The 38 and 32 bbls are numbered to frame. It is also accompanied by a single shot 22 cal bbl without serial number. It also has keyhole shaped bbl with target front sight and no rear sight installed. Set is accompanied by a very early oak casing adapted from another purpose with burgundy velvet lining with impressions in bottom for revolver, three extra bbls and a set of S&W extended hard rubber target grips. CONDITION: Very fine with matching numbers as noted above. 38 bbl retains about 95% strong, bright orig blue. 8″ 32 bbl retains about the same with light edge wear. 6″ 32 bbl retains 98-99% strong, orig blue. 22 bbl retains about 98% strong orig blue. Frame overall retains 97-98% strong, orig blue with a couple of scratches on sideplate and a slightly battered hinge screw. 38 cyl retains 88-90% strong, orig blue mixed with flaked patina. Trigger guard and hammer retain faded case colors. All bores are bright and shiny with a few scattered spots of pitting in the 38 bore. Target grips show light to moderate wear and round butt grips are crisp. Case is fine with a few scrapes and scratches with some staining on lid. 4-57532 JR480 (2,500-4,000)
