WILLIAM TROST RICHARDS (American, 1833-1905) “NEAR ROCKAWAY BEACH, 1889”. Outstanding watercolor shows waves flowing onto beach and rocks in a tranquil summer day. Several sails are seen on horizon and birds fly over large rocky point of land. A sandy beach is seen with rocks and seaweed. All under a light blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower right “Wm. T. Richards 1889”. Housed in a fine deep gesso decorated period frame with gold liner and inner linen matte with gold inner liner, behind glass. Back of watercolor with title and “Wm. T.
