STONEWARE GROUP OF SAMANTABHADRA ON HIS ELEPHANT. Chinese, late Qing Dynasty. Probably Yi Hsing ware. Nice example with enameled highlights featuring the bejeweled Buddha with deep indigo headdress and an enameled lotus stem and blossom astride a fanciful recumbent elephant with enameled trappings and six tusks. Together with a hardwood stand. SIZE: 19″ h x 16″ l. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of the grand-niece of the last Emperor Puyi of the Qing Dynasty and granddaughter of crown Prince Pujun.
