EXQUISITE PRESENTATION CANE TO THE HON. WILLIAM DICKEY. Circa 1891, Fort Kent, Maine. This beautifully executed example with deeply carved 14kt gold handle done in the aesthetic style, carved overall with flower heads and leaftips. The collar with four tombstone arched facets joined to an ebony shaft capped with a silver ferrule. Inscribed on top of handle “HON. WILLIAM DICKEY / FORT KENT, / MAINE / Presented by friends / of the legislature / of 1891“. Although not marked, the handle tested for 14kt gold. SIZE: 37” l. CONDITION: Handle is very good with crisp design. Ebony shaft with normal wear marks, small splinters at joint to ferrule from compression wear. Silver ferrule split. 9-99928 (1,500-2,000)
