WILLIAM RICKARBY MILLER (American, 1818-1893) COUNTRY VILLAGE SCENE. Fine detailed oil on canvas country village scene shows a series of houses with picket fences on either side of a wide dirt street. A family with dog is seen leaving the town and a woman walks up from the stream which has rock wall banks. Two white ducks/swans are seen approaching an arched stone bridge. A wagon is seen with man atop crossing the bridge with a connected building beyond. Cultivated hillsides are seen with tree lined fields. All under a light blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower left “W R Miller 1887″. Housed in what appears to be its original gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 13-1/2″ x 19-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-94520 (6,000-9,000)
