TWO BUSTER BROWN SCHOENHUT ROLY POLYS. The Schoenhut firm produced a wide variety of roly poly’s. The larger versions had movable heads and while they employed the same style body, they just changed the paint decoration as well as the heads. The larger of the two (9-1/2″) has a more pronounced Buster Brown style haircut than the smaller version. However, the smaller version retains its original cloth Schoenhut label with patent date of 1908. The firm produced these for 20 some years but by examining both rolys it is evident that these were earlier versions as the painting is much finer and more detailed than later versions. Both roly’s appear to be in all original, untouched condition. SIZE: 9-1/2″ and 6″ respectively. CONDITION: As stated above; normal wear to both. Smaller roly has some paint loss to rear of head. 1-12480 (450-650)
