ATTRIBUTED TO DAVID JOHNSON (American, 1827-1908) A VIEW OF SOMERSET, NY. Unsigned oil on canvas landscape scene shows a connected farmhouse next to winding stream with wood bridge. The banks are grass covered and the house is nestled amongst a grove of trees. A mountain is seen in the background under gray and white cloud with blue sky. Housed in a good period gesso decorated gilt frame with inscription on stretcher. SIZE: 20″ x 28″. CONDITION: Relined, light craquelure, inpainting. Very good. 9-93912 (6,000-8,000)
