HUBLEY LINCOLN FOUR DOOR SEDAN. First appearing in the 1924 Hubley catalog, this particular toy, as well as the convertible companion are rarer than hen’s teeth. Massive in size with a driver similar to the one used on the Hubley street sweeper, this is the largest cast iron automotive toy produced by Hubley. Although the same length as the Packard, it has greater height and girth as well as visual presence. Only a handful of these (as well as its companion piece) are known to exist today. Enameled in a dark blue with a black upper chassis and roof with iron disc tires (including a replaced spare mounted on the rear). A most unique and interesting toy, and for many years was part of a massive general collection in Ohio. SIZE: 11-1/2″ l x 5-1/8″ h. CONDITION: Restoration to roof, driver appears to have newer paint, otherwise generally good. 1-12845 (3,000-5,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - June 2013 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
