BUSTER BROWN & TIGE WINDUP GERMAN TIN BELL RINGER. Buster Brown and his faithful friend were commonplace fixtures in the earlier part of the 20th century and they advertised shoes, bread, biscuits and many other commercial goods. Many toys were made depicting these two characters and it’s always interesting to see the various toy maker creations. Who would ever think Buster Brown and Tige would be standing at a lamp pole ringing a bell?! The ingenuity of the toy manufacturers and their ability to create such whimsical pieces certainly these creations must have had some appeal to the children at that time. A four inch platform with Buster Brown and Tige standing at the pole and when the mechanism is activated the jointed arms on either figure will ring the bell. SIZE: Approx. 8″ t. CONDITION: Toy appears to be in untouched, all original condition with vibrant painting and uniform wear. Overall very good condition. 1-12455 (1,500-2,500)
