LARGE RARE AND IMPORTANT 17TH CENTURY RETICULATED STEM “LOTUS LEAF” RHINOCEROS HORN CARVED LIBATION CUP. Early Qing Dynasty China. This large and graceful example designed and carved as a lotus flower supported on leafy floral tendrils interspersed with cranes in flight as well as a detailed crab on one flower. The blossom is veined and carved with simulated petals. The interior of the cup is adorned with a snail moving within the flower. No display stand. WEIGHT: 220 grams. SIZE: Outside curve height is 7-1/2″. Inside curve height is 6-1/2″. Top size is 3-1/4″ x 5-1/4″. CONDITION: Now with mellow honey or tea brown tones and with undisturbed patina. 9-24843 (200,000-300,000)
