FINE MARINE DIORAMA. Last quarter 19th century. Detailed example depicting four ships and lighthouse on rocky point. Central ship, a four masted square rigged clipper flying a pennant with name “TACOMA”. A coastal schooner off stern and steam pilot boat with name “TIP” on bow. Coming across bow of clipper is smaller square rigged ship of which viewer sees only bow section. Lighthouse with additional buildings presented in right foreground of viewer. All within shadowbox frame, background painted with cloud filled skies and choppy seas. SIZE: 21″ h x 38″ l x 8-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Very good overall. Painted surfaces remain crisp.
