BALLARD NO. 4 PERFECTION RIFLE. SN 2947. Cal. 32 RF/CF. Light sporting rifle with 26″ oct bbl, Rocky Mtn. front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight and a Stevens-type tang sight missing its tension spring. Mounted with nicely figured, uncheckered American walnut with black insert semi-schnable forearm & straight stock with crescent buttplate. All numbers are matching. PROVENANCE: Glenn Marsh Collection. CONDITION: Metal retains a smooth even dark brown patina with traces of case colors on trigger plate. Stock has a crack & couple of hairlines in wrist with repaired crack in forearm with forearm retaining 30-40% orig varnish & buttstock 75-80% orig varnish.
