RARE SETH THOMAS OFF CENTER PILLAR & SCROLL CLOCK. First quarter 19th century. Of typical form with swan’s neck pediment alternating with brass spire finials the cased door opening to a painted wood dial with Arabic chapter ring and Arabic minutes within gilt and polychrome painted fan spandrels and time and strike apertures. Case retains original paper label and eglomise panel of a monument within a pastoral landscape, with offset pendulum aperture. Rare and unique clock is characterized by the off centered movement of the pendulum. Sold with two weights, pendulum and brass finials. SIZE: 30″ h x 17″ w 4-1/4″ d. CONDITION: Case repolished with restoration to swan’s neck pediment and with some restoration to feet. Otherwise good. 9-22076 (3,000-5,000)
