FINE MAHOGANY GRANDFATHER CLOCK BY THE HERSCHEDE HALL CLOCK CO. Serial Number 7930 (year 1919). The clock features a five-tube chiming mechanism with brass works which are signed “Herschede Cincinnati Pat’d Jan. 12-09 7930”. The moon phase dial having ship and castle scene, separate seconds dial and black enamel numerals on an engraved dial plate. The mahogany case having inlaid decoration with oval urn in base. The hood with banded inlay, carved rosettes and broken scroll top. All supported on a bracket base. Central rectangular door having beveled edge glass with original key. Pendulum, key, tubes and two weights are present. Case stencil marked “II46”. Appears to be in original dark crazed surface. Clock repair tag indicates complete overhaul in 1984. SIZE: 87-1/2″ h x 20-1/4″ at widest x 14″ at deepest. PROVENANCE: From a Washington, Maine Estate. CONDITION: Case, works and dial in very good condition. Unknown working order. 9-95781 (500-1,000)
