THOMAS DOUGHTY (American, 1793-1856) THE YOUNG FISHERMAN. Oil on board scene shows a young boy with red vest and yellow hat seated on a wood bridge over a small stream holding fishing rod with line in water. At the end of the bridge is a large tree and beyond his home nestled amongst a grove of trees. All under a blue and white cloud sky. Signed on left side of bridge “T Doughty”. Housed in a period gesso decorated regilt frame with gilt liner. SIZE: 22″ x 18″. CONDITION: Very good, 9-93198 (20,000-30,000)
