LARGE SCALE MODEL OF A TROLLEY CAR. An absolutely fantastic large scale (4″ track gauge) European style enclosed street trolley car. Undercarriage of heavy gauge steel with an intricate amount of detailing to said undercarriage/framework of this trolley. The body is constructed of wood with a full interior including a multitude of seats, trolley controls, entrance way adornments, glass clerestory and trolley pull. Pull is geared in a fashion that by pulling a string at either end it can be reversed hence when the trolley reaches its final destination it just reverses its course as the conductor walks to the other end. This piece was probably produced by a craftsman with machinist abilities and most likely made in the 1920s or early 30s. Wonderful period paint with some alligatoring to finish. Piece is most unique and a great addition for those who appreciate and understand finely made and detailed railroad memorabilia. SIZE: Approx. 36″ l x 14″ to rooftop. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus! A few minor repairs needed such as reinstalling some loose glass and clerestory and a minor cleaning to eliminate the years of dust and grime. 1-11773 (2,000-3,000)
