LARGE DOUBLE-TEAM EXPRESS WAGON ATTRIBUTED TO GEORGE BROWN. As pictured in American Antique Toys, Bernard Barenholtz, plate 46, this toy has a removable front end held in place by a long pin. Red sides with black stenciling and a seated driver on adjustable bench seat. Unusually large size, this was the largest express wagon available. This toy was quite expensive in its day with a wholesale price $9 a dozen! White horses with black trapping and red belly bands, each having a separate wheeled platform under their two center legs.” SIZE: 21″ PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Malcolm Deisenroth, Jr. CONDITION: Aged repair to center horse hitch, iron wheels missing from horses’ feet.
