FINE QING DYNASTY INDIGO TO CLEAR SNUFF BOTTLE. 18th/19th Century China. This fine example of unusual quality attributed to the Royal workshops, cut and designed with deep indigo sinuous dragons on a clear glass ground. The neck applied with clear carved water leaves. The clear glass intentionally designed with luminous iridescence. SIZE: 3″ l. PROVENANCE: Ex-Collection of John Reilly Jr (1876-1931), a member of the American Oriental Society (1918); American Numismatic Society member. Items acquired in his travels to Japan & China, 1909-1925. CONDITION: Very fine overall, stopper and cap absent. 9-24848 (1,200-1,800)
