9-PIECE AMERICAN OUTLINE BING STEAM LOCOMOTIVE AND ASSORTED FREIGHT CARS. A desirable early 18″ cast iron American outline Bing loco, 4-4-0 marked P.R.R. on tender, circa 1910. The set is accompanied by four various lithographed boxcars, and a hopper car (hand painted), gondola, and caboose. A nice assortment of very nice boxcars from various railroads (P.R.R., Illinois Central, B & O, and Central Railroad of New Jersey. Quite obviously, this set by Bing was intended to be shipped for the U.S. market. Engine has a cow catcher as well as a bell, which were usually only employed in American versions and not the Europeans. A most attractive set and makes a fine display. SIZE: Approximately 84″ total. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus, except gondola, which is good to very good. 1-12502 (2,500-4,500)
