LIONEL #8 TROLLEY.

LIONEL #8 TROLLEY. Many of Lionel’s early production pieces on today’s standard and in comparison with the Golden Era (1930s) are somewhat primitive and lacking detail yet they are very unique and have an abundance of charm about them. This particular trolley, when one sits down and studies it is very lifelike and if one were to compare the real piece to this toy they would be quite similar. Common saying at the time must have been pay as you enter on all trolleys. Stenciled on the side of this piece is “No. 8 Pay As You Enter”. Embossed on the underframe is “Lionel Mfg. Co. NY”. Enameled in dark green with yellow clerestory, windows and doors. Electric motorized unit on front truck. This is the largest of Lionel trolleys. SIZE: 19-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Overall good to very good condition. Appears to have some paint touch-up on front edge of green roof and one small touch-up spot further back on green roof. 1-12489 (4,000-6,000)
