TWO ENAMEL SNUFF BOTTLES. China, 19th Century. The first, a Rouleau form snuff bottle, with six character Yung Cheng mark (1723-1735), believed to be out of period, depicting figures in a water landscape and under glaze blue and red. The second of rectangular canister form probably a four character Hsuan T’ung decorated overall in under glaze blue landscapes. SIZE: 1) 3-1/4″ h. 2) 2-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: Ex-Collection of John Reilly Jr (1876-1931), a member of the American Oriental Society (1918); American Numismatic Society member. Items acquired in his travels to Japan & China, 1909-1925. CONDITION: Each is in good condition. Both missing caps and stoppers. 9-24851 (300-500)
