14-1/2″ LAVENDER GERMAN BELSNICKLE. An unusually large example with a more obscure and harder to find coloring to Santa’s coat. Overall in very fine untouched original finish with a plethora of mica adorning Santa’s lavender coat. The coat trimmed with a copper/gold hem and a cream colored cloth edging on hood of coat, surrounding Santa’s face. Still retaining original cardboard enclosure on bottom of papier mache base. A most desirable size with the earlier well executed facial painting, a must have for collectors of Christmas relics. SIZE: 14-1/2″ h. CONDITION: As stated above there appears to be an aged repair/re-gluing to back of black papier mache base. Triangular shaped, approximately 2-1/2″ at bottom of base and approximately 2″ in height. Not offensive or highly noticeable, but present and need to mention this minor discrepancy. 1-13519 (1,000-1,500)
