SMALL NEW ENGLAND STEP BACK CUPBOARD IN BLUE PAINT. Mid 19th century. Rectangular case with molded cornice, the upper section fitted with an arrangement of 16 drawers above a medial shelf over a single long drawer above a panel cupboard door, on supports with shaped returns. Turned wood knobs in marbleized red wash. SIZE: 68-1/2″ h x 33″ w of case, 36-1/2″ w overall x 16″ d. PROVENANCE: From a private Vermont collection. CONDITION: Structurally good with normal, expected wear. Painted surfaces early, but not original. Very good overall. 9-22817 (2,000-3,000)
