EARLY AMERICAN TIN BELL TOY WITH DRUMMER BOY & HORSE. Attributed to Altholf Bergmann this toy has a unique and interesting form to it. With the horse in the lead, the drummer boy is pacing behind him. The drum itself is quite unique and is impressed molded tin with stars in the pattern. Normally one would expect to find a flat base, but instead a convex styled base with cast iron heart shaped ex-centric wheels thus when the toy is pulled along the floor, you have a unique lifelike motion. Toy is largely in original paint with the exception of the white and flesh tone on the figure and the red on the horse (saddle band) and some possible enhancement to the yellow. SIZE: Approx. 10-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Overall toy is good to very good. 1-12405 (2,500-3,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
