CONTINENTAL ROSEWOOD TANTALUS. Mid 19th- century. The rectangular hinged lid with serpentine front opening to an interior fitted with the original rosewood three tier serving tray headed with a brass finial cast with child seated within a wreath. The case front and sides all hinged, with satin wood and kingwood string inlays overall. Retaining 15 small stem cordials and a pair of gilt-decorated decanters SIZE: 10″h. x 12-1/4″w. x 10″d. CONDITION: Structurally very good with early surfaces. Inlay, fittings, decanters, and eleven glasses appear original. Four cordials later replacements. Very fine overall. 9-20075 (300-600)
