PHILLIP VIELMETTER CLOWN ARTIST TOY. An ingenious toy created and manufactured in France during the early 1900s. Through a series of different cams, the clown would draw a picture on a piece of paper that had been set upon the easel in front of him. The entire toy is lithographed in vibrant colors and when hand cranking the toy, the pencil would move about on the paper and the clown’s head would follow the movements of his arm. SIZE: Approx. 4-3/4″ sq. CONDITION: Overall condition is good to very good. Artist’s right arm is an older replacement. 1-9531 (1,000-2,000)
