EARLY AMERICAN TIN CLOCKWORK HORSE-DRAWN FIRE PUMPER. Directly out of an old New England estate, this toy is in as found, untouched all original condition. Although the paint is somewhat sparse, the gilt stenciling is largely intact and overall the white horses still retain a significant amount of their original paint. Unfortunately the tin driver has left his seat and is nowhere in sight. Mechanism is intact and in working order, but requires some lubrication. A wonderful and unique form, with some minor paint enhancement, mostly to the boiler area this toy would be a great addition to any clockwork or early American tin collections. SIZE: Approx. 15″ l. CONDITION: Overall fair to good. Most likely toy had a stack sitting over tin sleeve on top of boiler. 1-12533 (1,500-2,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
