LARGER PLATFORM LION PULL TOY & GONG BELL HORSE PULL TOY. The first being a full bodied lion mounted on a raised pitched platform with four small wheels. This ferocious animal is painted in a lighter yellow with white underside and light brown mane. Considering that in this time period most people never saw wild animals, the inaccuracy regarding black eyebrows as well as black feet further adds to the toy like quality of this piece. The Gong bell toy features a butterscotch colored horse with fine black trappings and red saddle. Large brass bell affixed to axle between two heart shaped wheels. SIZE: 8-1/2″ l lion. 9-1/2″ l horse. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Malcolm Deisenroth, Jr. CONDITION: Paint restoration to green base, a couple of minor inpainting spots to lion. Gong bell toy appears to be in good to very good all original condition. 1-10168 (1,500-2,000)
