SEE SAW BELL TOY ATTRIBUTED TO GONG BELL. This is a charismatic toy employing an elaborate cast iron polychromed red base along with a thin wire armature in the form of a see saw. Two male painted tin figures perched on embossed shell-like seats would see saw back and forth as the toy was pulled along the carpet. On the center post is an exquisite cast lead gilded eagle. Typical of Gong Bell, cast iron heart-shaped wheels and a cast brass nickel plated bell. SIZE: 8″ long. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of Malcolm Deisenroth, Jr. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus original condition with exceptional paint to the iron base and extremely strong paint to the figures. An aged repair reattaching one tin seat to the wire armature. 1-10190 (1,500-2,500)
