GOAT DRAWN PLATFORM BELL TOY WITH WOMAN BY ALTHOF BERGMANN. An artistically whimsical as well as fanciful rendition goat bell toy with elaborately dressed woman on embossed rear platform. Very simple in nature, the goat with a small wheeled platform under two legs connected to a turned wire armature housing the bell and an embossed platform. When pulled across the carpet the excentric axle would cause the bell to ring and a thin wire from bell to female figure gave the illusion that she was actually ringing the bell. This particular toy also came with different figures and animals. Typical of Althof Bergmann they used large heart shaped wheels. As previously mentioned, Malcolm had a strong liking for goat themed toys. Acquired from Gemini Antiques this was one of Malcolm’s last toy purchases. SIZE: 15″ long.
