OUTSTANDING FOLK ART DEPICTION OF SWAN’S ISLAND, MAINE. The painting depicts a tall white lighthouse with attached building and American flag on tall flagpole at the end of a peninsula of land with houses, roads and schooners in the bay. The artist has framed the painting with two gray curtain swags at top corners. Signed lower right “T.S”. Housed in a modern partial gilt frame with linen and partial gilt liner. Purportedly a scene of Swan’s Island, Maine. SIZE: Sight: 7-1/4″ sq. PROVENANCE: Originally found in a Winterport, Maine attic. CONDITION: Light water stain in sky, generally very good. 9-97417 (6,000-8,000)
