EARLY 20TH CENTURY WHIMSICAL AERONAUTICAL TOY OF GERMAN MANUFACTURE. Leave it up to one of the German manufacturers to come up with a fantasy type toy and produce for the rest of the world to enjoy. This bespectacled gentleman with top hat and wings affixed to his back rivals the Wright Bros. in early flight. A wind-up motor at the bottom of the gentleman’s torso, a shaft extending to the rear with propellers (replaced) would cause this gentleman to move about the room when he is suspended by a string. In all original paint with no apparent damage and/or repairs this is truly a unique toy. SIZE: 8″ t. CONDITION: Typical of most hand painted German toys, there is some flaking to paint, but overall in very fine condition. Mechanism is operational. 1-9646 (2,000-4,000)
