EARLY REMINGTON MODEL 1875 ARMY REVOLVER WITH DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 44-40. SN 596. Nickel finish with 7-3/8” rnd bbl with pinched sight & crisp bbl markings. It has 2-pc smooth ivory grips with lanyard stud & ring in the buttstrap. Accompanied by a 18-5/8” x 10” blue felt lined display case made by consignor. It is custom made for this revolver and has an empty, extremely rare, Remington & Sons 44 CF cartridge box. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Retains most of its strong, bright, orig factory nickel with perhaps a little touch-up nickel on frame. Screws retain most of their orig blue, and hammer has brilliant case colors. Grips are sound with a age line around the left escutcheon and retain a beautiful mellow patina. Mechanics are fine. Brilliant shiny bore. This is a little used revolver, possibly unfired. Case is fine. Cartridge box is yellowed & possibly lacquered with a slight stain on label. 4-59334 JH27 (3,000-5,000)
