LOVELY BISQUE HEAD FASHION LADY. Unmarked pale bisque socket head with blue glass eyes, pierced ears, well painted lashes and feathered brows and nicely accented lips on separate bisque shoulder plate. Although of the finest quality, she is most likely of German manufacture rather than French. She’s on a very nice cloth body with brown leather forearms with separately stitched fingers and has some joints at the hips and knees with sewn-on cordovan leather boots and lower legs which are a pattern material simulating stockings. Although somewhat faded in front she is attired in a beautiful antique two piece walking suit made of heavy ribbed pumpkin colored cotton and velvet braid trim. Around her neck hangs a watch backed with enamel and painted floral design. Wig is dark human hair and the bonnet is well coordinated with the costume. SIZE: 15-1/2″ (39cm). CONDITION: Very good other than broken and reglued piece on right shoulder edge. 1-11618 (800-1,200) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
