FINE BIDJAR CARPET NORTHWEST PERSIA. 20th century. Bidjars are known as the iron rugs of the East. The central field of this fine example exhibits dense floral lattice work in blues and pink, centering a poled floral medallion on a midnight blue ground, further centering an ivory square center medallion with rich indigo floral sprays, all within arabesque floral spandrels with ivory accents. The blue-black main border with scrolling variegated pink flower heads. SIZE: 10′ 2 ” x 5′ 4″. PROVENANCE: From a Bangor Maine home.
